New Safety Card System

posted Jun 25, 2018, 11:05 AM by James Rawlings   [ updated May 13, 2019, 11:16 AM by Jenn King ]

Hello All,

As I am sure many of you are aware, the range has a new safety card system set-up. After an individual passes our safety test, we will print out the safety card right then and there. This does not mean the old laminated safety cards are invalid. It just means that person has an older card. It is not required to take this test in order for you to shoot at our range. It simply saves you $10 when you pay your entrance fee and also gets you familiar with our range rules. Right now we are offering the range safety test Sunday-Friday 9am-4pm. If you have any questions feel free to call and ask any of our range safety officers.

Thank You.

Hello Everyone, just a quick news flash, starting March 11th and the 11th of every month after we will be letting veterans and active duty personnel in the military shoot for free. You must have proper ID and in this case proper ID would be your military ID card, Veterans ID card, or your DD-214 military separation papers. Only people with these forms of ID are eligible for this offer. Thank you all and hope to see you here soon.

Hello again everyone, kind of a major announcement here, beginning January 1st the only ammunition allowed on our rifle range will be soft point or hollow point rounds. You will not be allowed to fire full metal jacket or steel core rounds out there. Our Range Safety Officers will be checking all rounds going out to the rifle range. Santa Shoot

posted Dec 3, 2015, 12:40 PM by James Rawlings

Hello everyone, just a bit of an announcement here. On Wednesday December 16th we are going to be doing we call our Santa Shoot. What is that you ask??? California Shooting Arcade is going to be bringing down a set of moving steel targets to our outdoor range. If you are wearing a Santa hat and have a pistol and 100 rounds of ammo (we do sell ammo here as well) and want to pay an additional 5 dollars you can shoot at these fun and challenging steel reactive targets on our outdoor pistol range. Now I know this is on Ladies Night and I kind of wanted to make clear that the $5.00 dollar charge to shoot at the steel targets is not covered by Ladies Night. Ladies will still be able to shoot for free on the indoor or rifle ranges but must pay the five dollars to participate in the Santa Shoot. Hope to see you all here and I will report any more details as I get them. Thank you.

Range Safety Cards

posted Nov 6, 2015, 5:04 PM by James Rawlings

Hey there people, just wanted to say that I will be clearing out unclaimed cards in two weeks or so. This means that if you took your test in 2014 or before I will be throwing your card away and you will have to take the test again. So come on in and get your card. Our crack staff of range officers are only too happy to get it out of our files for you. Just thought I would let everyone know, and thank you again those of you who have taken the range safety test. It has been a very successful program here at our range and has made the place significantly safer. Thank you all.

Turkey Targets

posted Nov 4, 2015, 9:11 AM by James Rawlings

Hi Everyone, Listen, Just wanted to say that we have started selling holiday targets early this year (well earlier then last year anyways). This year for Thanksgiving we have Roscoe the Evil Turkey. We are selling these targets for $1.00 a piece. 100% of all target sales goes to our Junior Rifle Club. Last year just doing Christmas Targets we (the RSO's) were able to donate 60ish dollars (I cant remember exactly what it was) just doing Christmas targets (late). So help us please in helping out our young shooters (and getting rid of Roscoe the Evil Turkey). Thank You.

Saturday Night Steel Shoot

posted Oct 28, 2015, 12:13 PM by James Rawlings   [ updated Oct 28, 2015, 12:14 PM ]

Hi everyone, it is with great regret that I announce that The Saturday Night Steel Shoot here at San Leandro Rifle and Pistol Range is canceled until further notice. That is to say that from now until further notice BOTH ranges (indoor AND OUTDOOR) are going to be open to the public during normal operating hours 9-10. That is unless there is some sort of event or other thing going on (which is rare). The outdoor ranges here are very well illumiated for nightime shooting on both the Pistol and Rifle ranges. Hope to see you all here.

.22 rim fire now allowed on the 100 yard range.

posted Jul 16, 2015, 7:54 AM by James Rawlings

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to let everyone know that for a 30 day trial period we will be allowing .22 cal rim fire rifles to shoot on the 100 yard range. So long as the 100 yard range is not needed by center fire rifle shooters as .22 cal can be shot on the 50 yard outdoor range as well as indoors while center fire rifles can ONLY be shot on the 100 yard range. We also have plenty of .22 cal ammo for sale (limit two boxs per shooter), as long as the purchaser is also shooting here as well. Hope to see you all here.
